A PILOT was killed yesterday when he ejected from his private jet as it overshot a runway and crashed on to the M11.
A passenger who did not eject escaped alive as the plane slid on to the motorway which was virtually deserted.
The brakes failed as the Aero L39 fighter landed at 100mph at the Imperial War Museum in Duxford, Cambs.
The pilot’s body was found in a field near the M-way’s junction 10.
The passenger — who stayed in the two-seater’s cockpit — was unscathed but suffered shock.
