FS2K2 won't start with MiG loaded!

Can anyone tell me why FS2K2 won't start if I left off with the MiG? It just freezes on the splash screen.

dont know for sure ..but after you downloaded it did you register it? If a red box appears when you load the mig then you need to register it using the key mailed to you by support.

How to register? ...you can find this in folder on your computer fs2002/aircraft/mig21um/manual/user_manual

if you have registered it then im at a loss...sorry

Yes, it is registered. The plane works just fine if I start FS with another plane and switch to it, but not if FS is trying to load it from the start. :)

1. You full name and date of purchase
2. Your PC system configuration
3. Detailed problem description (what, when, how)

Otherwise your reports are useless.

System specs:

1.33 GHz AMD Athlon
256 MB RAM
60 GB HD
Windows 2000 Pro

Problem:

Flight Simulator 2002 Pro freezes ("stops responding" according to Task Manager) on the splash screen when the MiG is slated for initial loading. However, FS2K2 starts fine when another plane is to be loaded, and the MiG then loads without problem from within the game. This is a problem which occurs every time, not just a single occurance.

Have you installed the Patch 1?

If yes, reinstall the MiG, there sholdn't be any problems with the startup.
(1. uninstall the patch,
2. uninstall the Mig
3. instal the Mig,
4. then the patch.
Or please contact us for version 1.2 download (no patches required).

I did the reinstall as you suggested, but FS still hangs on the splash screen. From the sounds of the hard drive, it's like it begins to load, but then stops accessing the HD after about 10 seconds.

BTW, I have a GeForce2 GTS 64MB

Have you registered the MiG? (It shouldn't stall this way if it doesn't registered, but that might be the cause in your case)

I have the same problem. It will work in the air after another plane is loaded first. I run AMD 1600+, 512M RAM, GeForce 3 Ti500, 64M video card, Audigy sound card, Win 98ME. &lt;Bob.

Has anyone there been able to recreate this supposed bug on their system? It's not a huge deal, but having to load a different plane before exiting FS is an annoyance.
