Gentlemen, please describe your PC systems with any bug report. That will help us to fix it faster.

Ref the sim crash after MiG crash, aircraft change or FS shutdown:
Most likely that's FS2002 aircraft lights conflict with win98/ME on some systems.

FIRST AID:
Do not turn any lights on. That will prevent the FS from the crash.

I have a feeling that windows XP is the problem.
FS2002pro is not being released from memory when
I use it. There is no indication its running in
Applications only in Processes. And its using a lot
of memory.

Thanks fir the config.
So there's no problem with lights OFF, right?

The lights were never on. and it did this!!

First of all, Captain ... OUTSTANDING WORK!!!

Secondly, I have a similar AMD system with Windows XP and FS2002 shuts down fine with or without all the lights on. No process is left running.

By the way, the lights ... they're awsome :-) Finally an add on aircraft that you can see your landing lights from the cockpit!!!

That's strange. We are working on the problem. The thing is the bug appears only under SOME systems. We need some time to collect more similar reports to fix it.

Does the sim crashes EVERYTIME you shutdown the sim or under some specific conditions? (like from VC only, or with spot view only, etc)

Doesn`t really crash, it just never quits like it
said it did. Its still running the exe after exiting.
and it prevents a restart of the sim until the exe
is stopped. Never had this happen before, strange.
Its nothing thats really hurting the system, but a
little annoying to turn it off the hard way. I`m patient!!

Come to think of it, I always use spot view for
panning purposes if that helps anything. Fly all
my planes from the outside looking in.

I get a crash just about everytime I quit the flight. It doesn't crash while the flight is playing but right after. I get a Microsoft dialog box saying the sim had an error. It asks if I want to report the error or not. I had never seen this box before today so I imagine it has something to do with my favorite new plane.

Thanks so much for the effort put into this.

I haven't played MSFS2002 very much and have a question. When I open the game with the new plane the engine is already running but the sound is off. Is this supposed to be that way? So when you go through the startup procedure the sound is turned back on at some point giving the impression that the startup procedure started the engine? Or am I doing something wrong?

Please try if FS2002 gets frozen if you turn it off from inside cockpit view?

What's your PC system configuration?

Is it MiG-21 or all FS2002 aircraft issue?

Support,
I am running on ME with a P3-733 - 320mb ram - V5 5500 card. It looks stunning. I could probably use a little more poop to improve fps.

I will have to test to see if all the planes come up with the sound shut off. Like I said, I haven't used FS2002 much. Been flying USAF for a long time now. Just got the latter to fly your new plane. So far I have found no way to turn the engine off either.

I think it is a good idea to deskribe all
add-ons and additional modules working with your FS.
A had simular problem with FSUPS and some flight planning programs.

Beautiful Mig-21 and everything works great accept
when I try to shut down FS2k2 now the sim shuts off
but never shuts down. I had to restart the computer
and and this message that FS2k2 is running and I had
to manually shut it off to restart. And its now I have to manually shut-it down when I exit the sim.
Its the only thing I`ve installed today and no other
changes on my computer until I installed the Mig-21
this morning. Anyone else have this problem at all.

Similar problem with me:

Unfortunately, I crashed the Mig every time so far. After FS2K says "crashed", FS2K crashes also indicating several problems including mig.gau files. And after FS2K crashed, windows hangs up and I have to do cold reboot.

Flew great for me, but has caused an internal bug
in FS2k2 that won`t allow proper shutdown. God
its a beautiful plane but this is anoying to have
to control+Alt+Delete and shut down the FS2k2 exe.
before I can reboot or restart fs2k2..

"Please try if FS2002 gets frozen if you turn it off from inside cockpit view?"

Tried it, same thing!! I decides to see if any other
planes in my sim would do this and the Mig-21 is the
only plane that won`t let FS2k2 shut down all the way. What I`m gonna do is un-install it and re-install it into temp file and manually put it into
FS2k2 and see if that works.

We've recompiled all 3 models and they work fine with all our test systems. We're sending them to you right now via email. Please test and let us know the results.
Thanks.

Perhaps a solution?

I've seen the microsoft screen after an incomplete FS2K2 shutdown before and the problem probably was a DirectX conflict of my "soundcard" which was a software synthesizer. After deactivation of this software FS2K2 worked fine until I installed the Mig. Today, I reinstalled DirectX and so far the shutdown problem after flying the Mig apparently is gone.

So DirectX reinstallation solved the problem on your system?
Thanks, that might help others who have similar problems with FS2002 freeze.

Anyway, updated MiG-21UM models are available for testing. Everyone who has the same problems with FS2002 shutdown or Mig21 versions selection please contact us, we'll send the models.
