I have gotten a LOT of messages asking about the IX. Well its sent, but weather Oleg can add it in time is up too him. If its not in time, then it will be in an add-on patch for the add-on.
First, the release date for the add-on is set for Feb-1st. This date is in NO WAY "set in stone" and as we all know is very much subject too change. So far the "street price" for the add-on is 29.99, but may change. A little steep, but its damn near doubling the flyable AC in FB and is pritty much opening every theater of war too us! YOu know I will be ordering a copy even if I get one for free!
If this add-on does well, there may be a 2nd add-on. We have PLENTY of aircraft under development that could make up a smaller and possibly cheaper add-on. A lot of nice twin engine aircraft and med/heavy bombers! B-24, B-26, A-20, Ju-88, Tu-2, Mossy all would make a great add-on.
Also just to clear some other things. Here is a list of the aircraft I did and possible loadouts.
IX LF with 2 20MM and 4 .303
IX LF with 2 20MM and 2 .50 cal
Other loadouts like bombs are up too Oleg. Both models will have clipped or unclipped options.
Vb. 2 20MM and 4 .303.
Other loadouts like bombs are up too Oleg. It will have clipped or unclipped options.
P-63C with 37MM gun (51 rounds?) and two .50 cal in the nose. All Russian version did not have the .50 cal on the wings, but I did model the gunpods. Its up too Oleg.
Other loadouts include 3 hardpoints. One center, and two wings. Each capable of loading 500lb bomb or drop tanks. Options are up too Oleg.
P-38 J and L. J has no dive brakes, L has dive brakes and hydrolic Airlarons. 4 .50 cal and 1 20MM. I made sure Oleg had them all boarsight with no convergance. With them all grouped, no need for convergance.
Other loadouts. A LOT! 250, 500, 1000, and 2000LB bombs on inner bomb racks. 10x HVAR on L model and 6 bazooka on J. The J represents the early P-38 J's and they did not have the X-mas tree till later. The 14 HVAR was not widely used and had an extreamly bulky and complicated firing system. I also was able to find proof that the .50 cal gunpods were used, so they are in! J and L have no K-14 gunsight. Not enough proof.
P-80. 6 .50 cal in the nose. All concentrated like in the P-38. This will be a ripper with the power of the .50 cal in such a tight pack.
Other loadouts are two hardpoints for bombs. 250lb and 500lb. No ejection seats. Oleg and I decided on doing the early YP-80 to keep it closer too the Me-262's performance. Oleg said they are a great match in the air. Very equil with speed and firepower going to the 262, and manuverability and durability too the P-80. The still of the pilot will be the biggest factor in this fight. It will have working airbrakes.
Go-229. 2x Mk-103's. The 4 Mk-108 armed config was for night fighter and will not be used. Oleg and I could not find any data on hardpoints so its questionable if it will have a bomb load or not. Its best roal is anti-bomber and climbs like a bat-out-of-hell. Dont expect it to be a dogfighter. It will have working ejection seat, drag chute, and airbrakes.
As you can see, I have a LOT of work going into this add-on and I an very proud of every model. I hope everyone buys a few copy's of the add-on! Im trying to get more info about the add-on from Oleg but so far no-go.
I would like to tank the MANY MANY people who have helped me build these models. I cant list them all, but here is a list of the most noteable.
Snorri for his skinning work on the PBY, Go-229, P-80 (and soon the Do-335)
Jeronimo for his work on the cockpits for the P-38 and Spit series.
Capt.FlushGarden for his work on the P-63 and Spit textures. He also helped on the cockpit textures for the P-38 and P-63.
LightBulb and his dad for there wonderful insight in the Spitfire. Nothing like talking too someone who has FLOWN the beast
Biggs22 for keeping me on my toes!
And everyone!!!
My next project is the PBY Catalina flyable (Blisters at 35% done, cockpit at 15and the Do-335 thats nearly complete. Snorri currently has it for painting. You should see pics soon.
Whats next? I dont know. I would like to do the Mossy once the PBY and Do is done. But we are running out of AC fast. Maybe do an early P-38 for Luthiers project? We will see. Time will tell.
