The early 109 had manual prop pitch, both, D and E variants. We dont have E-4, only E-1 and very limited E-3, since we dont know how many of them were in use. So, both its not "patriotic" and "for balance", nor we are "психи"
The manual prop-pitch was replaced in 1940 with the outcome of E-4 version. Of course, some older planes received it, too.
