I think that the Slav nations of Eastern Europe ( Poland , Hungary , Czechoslavakia, Croatia, Serbia , Ukraine and the others, etc etc) should form an organisation for mutual security outside NATO as a neutral buffer between Western Europe and Russia.. A third bloc to balance the other two.
This would solve many problems , guarantee future peace in Europe and hurt no-one.
