Here are the answers (in red) to your questions from our team. We answered
them best to our knowledge and estimation as of today. Everything is subject
to change and final approval by 1C/MG. The answers are what we "intend/plan"
to work on, not that "it will happen 100%". Sorry for the delay.


Is it possible to do the following:

1. Replace the simple temporary airstrips with a very
flat,half-sunk-in-the-surface prism, with plane "birthplaces" not on the
runway. This will eliminate troubles with temporary airfields in net games.
Prisms may be skinned (by country etc) to match landscapes.

No plans for such a new feature.

2. Have dedicated server configuration options - "no client-side log", "no
display of enemy crafts", "track recording not allowed", "no display of
pilot number on the airfield in the brief"

Couple of features are already under consideration/in the works
3. Make external sounds not heard in the cockpit.

No plans to change default sounds now.
4. Enable gunner warnings in DF/elsewhere.

Not at the moment.

We may consider it, if technically possible. Good idea.

Personally, I find Betty DM ok, I think B-29 is too vulnerable. We may take

9. There is a good number of seemingly-reasonable and
apparently-easy-to-implement suggestions, like changing motors or armament
to produce the transitional plane types, like Bf109G-4 - 3D model of G2+
motor overheating+weight 3000 - 3100 kg; FW190D-11 - D9 with 2x13 mm MG
replaced by 30 mm MK; Yak-1PF/1942 (3D and DM of Yak-1/1941 + 105PF motor)
etc.

We may add few more easy-to-do variants of existing planes in the future,
but its not on our priority list.

10. Change the Il-10 load to have 4*FAB-50+4*(ROFS-132 or M-13). At present
Il-10 is a very seriously handicapped attack plane.

We may take a look at it. Please send references.
11. There is some mod which allows moving trains/ships etc in dogfight mode,
are there any plans for the the official implementation of it?

We are currently investigating such possibility.
12. Are there any plans for tight integration with a free server commander
(FBD)?

In short, no integration. Longer version: if we are contacted by developers
of 3rd party programs, like stats collectors, online war generators, etc.
with specific requests to dump more info into log files, we will be happy to
add these features.
13.AFAIK, some time ago Oleg has said that some 3-D engine capabilities were
deliberately turned off (grass, plane self-shading) since they were
overloading video cards at the time. Since IMHO it was a couple of years
ago, maybe it is possible to turn these features on now, or at least to let
the user decide that?

We haven't found any "locked" feature in the engine.

14. Is it possible to tune the Murmansk map so that it will be quite dark?
To get the polar night? And maybe even to get the polar light?

No change to Murmansk map planned, but global change of northern sky
"glow" is planned.
15. Is it possible to adjust full mission builder to use the wide screen
resolutions?

We will take a look, if it doesn't take too much time we will do it.

16. Is possible to release the vectorized maps of all terrains, including
Slovakia?

No.
17. Is it possible to make a community call to make a major update for the
museum? To include everything in it? This may need setting up a Wiki for
doing that (since all translations will be needed).

We like the idea very much. Forgotten feature of Forgotten battles
This is indeed huge undertaking and without community help
(creating/translating), it's impossible.
We'll see if we can make some guidelines for the community which will enable
us to integrate such project as easily as possible.

18. Is there any possibility to add a pulsating flame to V-1 exhaust?

No, pulses would interfere with game framerate causing stroboscopic
artifacts.


19. Any chance to get RRAB's - rotating-dispersing bombs? German AB-????
models may be used for them. TB-3 with 8*RRAB-500 would be quite welcome in
some situations.

Possibly. Can't promise definitely. Please, send references.
20. Finding a proper squadron in a long list in the FMB editor is not too
funny work. Is it possible to make selection easier by using other structure
of drop-down lists - first one contains BOTH side and country, other ONLY
the squadrons belonging to that country.

Maybe, if there will be enough time. We are making some changes in FMB
already.
21. Is there any chance to get the official Spanish(both sides) markings?

Probably not without 3rd party support. To clarify, if the community
provides all necessary files (voice pack would be great too), we will
include it.
22. Is there any chance of getting the map of Spain?

Not on our list at the moment. See answer 21, but be aware that we expect
such map to be of great quality: historical research, some new objects, some
new textures, and also not a resource hog.
23. Is it possible to add a "Sliverplate" B-29 loaded with the 5-ton HE
bomb? To fly intercept missions against them.

Both nuclear bombs used in ww2 were specific in design. Circumstances of
their use were also very specific. Without going into controversial issues,
we don't see much practical use for it in Il-2.
24. Plane shadows now do not change irrespectably of their flight height. Is
it possible to make shadows fainter and disappear if plane is flying really
high?

Not possible without deep changes in engine
25. It would be very nice to change marker schemes and generally to have a
special tool which allows easy modification of how they are displayed,
import and export of "marker settings schemes". Easiest thing to implement
is just to add "plane type" marker, plus make markers visible only on
friendly aircrafts. Maybe there is some sense to make it default marker
(just plane type|all other marker schemes).

Is this about icons above the planes or icons on map?

26. Quite a popular demand is to exclude paratroopers from the list of the
external view sequence (or to add some means to show only cameras +
aircrafts)

We will make some changes in external view, while we are doing them we
will see how to implement your request.

-especially in daytime?

We are looking into this, but without success so far.

We will take a look at this possibility, but no promises. In 4.09 we have
tried to show the spawn points in the Readme for Slovakia and Bessarabia
maps, since we understand such info is important for mission builders.

29. Is there any possibilty to get a field mods of P39Q1-10 with bulletproof
glass and an option to remove MG's in the wings; P-40 Kittyhawk with only 4
MGs; Bf-109G-2 with armor from Bf-109F-4...

Loadout options (removing some MGs) are much more likely.

30. Is it possible to create a "defensive circle" formation?

We will see if this can be done.

31.Is it possible to make AI more robust about leaving a damaged plane, and
to make AI avoid forest when crash- landing (to use roads or nearby
airfields)?

We considering/planning a complex AI update. We will take a look at the
features you have listed.
32. Are there any plans for flyable B-17 and Pe-8? Even if not all positions
will be available (pilot, bomber,rear gunner will do)?

No.

It is possible and in the works. We plan full implementation with
parameters accessible through the FMB.

Under consideration, we are currently researching RL pilot’s flaps controls
of N1K.
35. Is it possible to have a separate models for japanese MK and MG (e.g.
now Ho-103 == MG-131)? It would be nice to have the navy Type 99 guns (model
1 & 2) in A6M, N1K, J2M too.

Possible, we need RL data for these guns and we could add them easily.

37. Is in possible to increase the spreading of PTAB (maybe of other bombs
too)? Now from 200 m @ 320-360 km/h they have lateral spread of 7-8 m
instead of 15-16 m.

Some redesign of bomb drops is currently being investigated.

38. RS are far too much accurate in game, could you increase their
spreading, an add "salvo" launch mode?

For both points: spread and inaccuracies are quite high on priority list,
but network synchronization is real challenge here (we need to make sure all
players see same thing).


39. Change the DM of bridges so they are destroyed only by a direct hit of a
heavy bomb.

We are considering some rework of fuel tanks.
55. I think that bottom gunner of Ju-88 (and maybe in He-111 also) is too
well protected while pilot of Ju-88 can be killed way too easy, could you
check it?

Ju-88 damage model is not very good. Hopefully we will find the time to
improve it.
