It's kind of a pain having to unplug the power cords from all my CD drives, but I'm curious as to why that's necessary.
What exactly is the copy protection looking for?
I used my TDK-1210 CD-RW to back up with the "Securom *NEW (V 4.x)" Datatype option at 1x speed.
Then I turned off the computer and unplugged all the power cables from my CD drives. Restarted my system and changed my Virtual Drive letter to 'D'. Set the DVD region code to 1. Removed the Manufacturer name AVX leaving it blank, and finally installed the game with the Virtual SCSI CD drive. Then I entered the serial number and played the game from the image.I found a way to eliminate unplugging your CD-ROMs everytime:
If you have no more than two IDE CD-ROM devices, be sure they are both connected to your Secondary IDE cable. Then disable the Secondary IDE Controller in the BIOS/CMOS setup. Mount the game on the Virtual Drive with either Alcohol 120% or Daemon Tools and it will work!
[Note: You will need to enable the Secondary IDE Controller in your BIOS/CMOS each time you use your CD drives and disable each time you play a Starfoce 3 protected game]
