Вообще-то он прямо просит - "to give us the PATCHES of the rangs of russian pilots. What I mean is the insigne (здесь ошибка - это слово пишется INSIGNIA) so you can see if it is a General or a major or a lieutenant". Патчи - это нашивки для "visual ID" того, кто, собственно, перед тобой находится - целый полковник или кто другой.
