I like to think I helped by spotting the forming up OKL horde and damaging both He11s on my first slash. I later suffered the magic BB which killed my engine and I was heading home with not enough power to clear the blu line. An AI 190 overshot me (who would have thought as I was flying 160+ with flaps) and I got my nose up enough to completely ruin his left wing and engine and he staggered back towards home smoking as I crash landed perhaps 3 K from our beloved infantry.
...Yaks found the bombers at 500M and by the time I dropped from 5K they were at 50M trying to run 040 to evade us as high speed.
Perhaps their takeoff was delayed hoping for a restart. It seemed to me we caught them napping. I thought I had La-5 in there helping me? Perhaps the pair of La-5 was there.

Seemed like the tactic of sweeping out in a north west/west/south west direction was the ticket for maximum coverage. While Vodka was attacking the forming-up bombers, me and Hang were in our Mig's heading south west and we spotted a lone Bf110 heading to our secondaries in the south no doubt.
Unfortunately Hang took a magic bullet to the engine from the gunner and he had to rtb and crash landed. I continued the chase with the 110 and got him to drop his bombs and abandon his plan to hit our secondaries, finally closing in enough to flame an engine and get his controls and he crashed.
I covered the southern 4 secondaries/primaries and all looked OK, finally assisting Bogun when he spotted 190's and then 109's in the M11 area. Unfortunately when I closed in on a couple of 109's, fired and cut the trailer in two, his forward half slowed and ascended just enough for me to clip his wing and I had to bail, captured...

...our group of 4 La-5 loaded with bombs did our dart straight to enemy train, which Merc wiped out with the bombs in I-15. Unfortunately, the secondary explosions of the train cars damaged his plane and he was forced to fly home. The rest of La’s, still loaded with bombs, went straight South to hunt car column, which we found pretty much at the same time as our IL-2 found it in I-12, after they finish enemy tank primary.
I asked the permission to get read of our bombs – with all this AAA fire we were expecting enemy fighters to show up at any minute. We killed car column and our IL-2 were left with some of their armament intact, so they decided to proceed to enemy airfield and asked La to escort them. Leaving IL-2 unprotected at this moment didn’t sound right, so we flu together to the airfield in H-10 and provided them with decoy for enemy AAA. Jagger’s strike with some kind of incendiary bombs was just perfect, so we mopped up and hurried home to do the CAP way North, as we were suppose to be about 10 minutes ago…
On a way home in about M-10 area, over the lake we been first intercepted by enemy fighters – that time Bf-109 returning home to the airfield in K-10. We set one afire and attempted to fly to assigned positions for CAP, when we got tangled again with a bunch of Fw-190 in somewhere in L-10… Once dancing began, both sides received reinforcements – Rel came just in time to prevent high flying Bf109’s from bouncing us.
We got those Focke-Wulfs low and slow – just the way we like them… Unfortunately after the train, car column and two airfields we were low on ammo, we could have gotten more of them burning…
Still, we got lucky – one of Squarehead’s premier bomber pilots disconnected at the start of the mission...
