Report from the 2005 Fan Fest


Here are my notes so far from the forums. I attended:



I will put these in categories when I get back home.

(Also there are some duplicate notes I know, ill fix it later)



Disclaimer: This is all my interpretation. Take nothing as gospel please.

This is working as intended



A request was made for a Galaxy Correspondent.

This request was well received.



The new slicing systems appears to be near completion

"Expect to see it on Test Center in June"

This new slicing system will likely include a greater chance of some failure for the sliced item.

For example, your weapon will have a chance to jam.



The character wipe (for canceled accounts) is still on the schedule



Droid Tracking on Kashyyk

Dev's would not answer. They may not yet be in agreement on this issue was my sense.

Another dev stated that “this is not likely to change”



A lot of questions were asked about new content for crafters.

No clear answers were given, and I left with the feeling nothing is currently planned.



Note: The dev team has a tremendous amount of work on their various priority lists

(concept/planned/in development/etc.)

There is far more on their wish list then they can possibly deliver, so it is all about prioritization.



Also it was noted that the dev team spent too much time on CU and RotW to the detriment of live. They admitted this mistake.



The dev team pledged to spend 50% of their time on live and 50% on new content.



As such I have tried to categorize each of the comments made into one of the following: wish-list, in development, and in progress. These are my subjective ratings since the devs never really say no (not very often) out of politeness, but it is not to hard to read an implied no.



The clone terminal fix is in-progress.



"Jedi should have to sit down after 20 min." -Tom

It is their intention that jedi should not be able to fight continuously.



Linking groups seems to be planned

"Current group size will stay at 8" -Tom



Ranger 'love' is on the schedule



Squad Leader 'love' is also on the schedule



The plan for the new FRS system has been submitted to Lucas Arts for approval



There was a significant emphasis on what is called the "planet revamp".

This appears to be a localization of mobs on all the planets

For example, if you are level 50 and want to hunt level 49-52 pickets, you will know where to go.



Z axis LOS (Line of Sight) seems to be in progress. The dev team was coy on this one, so it is probably coming soon. There was speculation among the crowd that this may have to do with combat mounts/vehicles.



2 new ships are in progress



Duel weilding appears to be in coding now



Last ditch should leave you with 50 points of health, not incap you (but may incap your target)

This is working as designed



A longer cooldown for avoid incap is under consideration



Healing (CM/Doc) should not draw as much agro as it currently does.

They are looking into this



Concusison shot (and other mezz shots) should daze (paralyze) and any damage taken should break


it.

Exceptions to this may either bugs, or exploits.

/startle /concusion was brought up as a problem (exploit perhaps)

Devs are going to look at this one.



Head Hit/Leg Hit/Torso Hit are working as intended. They attempt to target (may or may not be


sucessfull) that area. For example, if you head hit someone without a helment, it should do much


more damage.



Your should be auto-targeting your attacker if you currently have no target. This is currently


bugged and is being looked at.



Ranged attacks for pets were broken by the CU. Dave is working on this now.



Inability to use lower level specials

But currently is by design to help simplyfy the game.

Force run was brought up as an issue.

No definitive answer given.



Force Run changes are in progress.

No details given.



Rifle/Pistol/Carbine speeds will probably be reviewed to counter the

can we re-deed our old pets?

space battlefields/zones are on dan rubenfield's wish list



the badge for the crimson tie is incoreclty the rebel badge

devs are looking into this



findfriend in space is on their bug list



replenish/repair bug is on their list



ship strakes are not intended to add anything but art

they will not give additional ship mass as stated in the knowledge base (kb will be fixed)



sw crafting with factories

devs-no, as intended



dan is planning to tweak the speed of ship (droid) commands



personal combat in space is disabled for frame rate issues, and will likely stay disabled



droid grouping in space is a bug and not intended



plazma and conduit alarms are still bugged, looking into this



ship to ship boarding is in the 'wish list' stage



dan wants to see more firepower on the pob ships



the devs are not happy with the current state of pvp (ruled by jedi) and the highly antagonistic


relationship between jedi and bh's

they are considering many options

one option is a 3rd tier for pcp "elite special forces" if a jedi goes 'overt' he will be placed


in the third tier only. therefore all non jedi can fight in the 2nd tier curent special forces,


or 'choose' to join the jedi pvp in the 3rd tier



the 2nd and 3rd phases of the gcw revamp are on the schedule

devs-now is the time for sugestions



faciton pets are not usefull

not being able to slice a bio-linked item is a bug, on the list



badges will soon enable new titles



the burst run exploit is being addressed



the duel macro exploit was uncovered (by gaarawaar and me (tinkerer)) in the game room

expect a fix soon

no, or reduced visibility while hunting with a group is under serious consideration

as is a master-padawan relationaship

why are dark/light powers not segregated in the jedi skill trees as they used to be

dan r. stated that it is their intention for bh-jedi combat to be 1-1 only

as such, they are very likely going to remove jedi names and bountie payouts from the bh terminals



can we trade jedi xp for fs xp?

jedi robes do not give visibility



jedi xp may get reset in the future (remove negative xp)



mayoral races may be shortened from 3 weeks



crystals maxing at 110 and perls at 120 is as intended
