Non-historical fighter-bomber Campaign (v 1.03) featuring Beaufighter, Mosquito and Tempest flyable planes.

The Campaign takes place during an unspecified timeframe between the Battle of Britain and the Allied landings in Normandy. There are no historical references.

I made the Campaign only aiming at flying some of the most remarkable RAF fighter-bomber planes.

I have made most of the skins used in the Campaign myself, but I have also used existing skins which I have downloaded previously.
I have modified some of them as well, when necessary, like the ones for the He111 or one of the TempestMkV. In another cases (Ju88) I have used the original downloaded skins, without any modifications.

I have used the Normandy map and have added here and there some extra objects (like a submarine pen, a V-1 placement, a large coastal docks and an extra dock with rail yard). I'm still experimenting with building extra areas, so the ones found in this Campaign are quite simple and probably naive, but they helped out making the Campaign a bit more interesting. The number of extra objects is limited, so even slower machines should not have much problems with the in-game detail settings.

Every briefing has a footnote about the skin to be used for the player's aircraft.

INSTALLATION:

The zip archive contains all necessary files, grouped in three folders.

1) Road_to_Normandy - just unzip it in the ..\Missions\Campaign\GB folder

2) Skins folder - unzip it into the ..\PaintSchemes folder. All the used skins should have unique names. If in doubt, to avoid overwriting one of your existing skins, check the names before unzipping and make backups if necessary.

3) Extras folder - This folder contains the award, rank, background and icon files for the GB campaign. You have them all already, but I have made a special background and have re-edited the medal pictures to make them more consistent with the background. If you want to use my files, make a backup of the original ones and unzip the content of the Extras folder in the ..\Missions\Campaign\GB folder. The Campaign will work well also with the original IL2 files.

You may use my skins freely for your own Campaigns, as long as you please report the original skinner's name (rdans59).
