Представители индийского руководства обратятся к Владимиру Путину, который 24 января прибывает с визитом в Дели, с просьбой о вхождении в энергетический проект "Сахалин-3". Об этом заявил министр нефти и газа Индии Мурли Деора (Murli Deora), сообщает Reuters.
В то же время чиновник не стал называть конкретных цифр относительно объема пакета акций проекта, который намерена приобрести индийская сторона. Ранее министр обороны России Сергей Иванов, также находящийся в стране с визитом, заявил о том, что Москва рассчитывает на индийские инвестиции в "Сахалин-3" и Ванкорское месторождение в Красноярском крае.
Индийские нефтяные и газовые компании уже имеют опыт работы на территории России. В частности, Oil and Natural Gas Corp несколько лет назад приступила к добыче топлива в рамках "Сахалина-1". Компании принадлежит 20 процентов предприятия.
Ранее представители "Газпрома" предложили участие в разработке "Сахалина-3" англо-голландской Royal Dutch Shell, а также японским Mitsubishi и Mitsui. Among the contenders for the Indian Air Force’s mega order of 126 fighter aircraft, the Russians are pushing their MiG-35 to compete with the various western aircraft like the Swedish Grippen, US F-18, and French Rafale. The MiG-35 is an enlarged and more advanced development of the MiG-29/MiG-33 family seen as a potential replacement for the MiG-29 and Su-27.
The MiG-35 was designed to compete with the American Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor. Many of its design features are similar to those found on “fifth generation” Western fighters, including thrust vectoring, supersonic cruise and modern avionics.
The MiG-35 is agile and has an increased range of over 2,100 kilometres. It is fitted with improved avionics, vast improvements in weapon systems, systems, wide range of weapons of air-to-air and air-to-ground, as well as a variety of defensive and offensive avionics suite. The aircraft has eight weapon “pylons” or points and is able to refuel and carry three external fuel tanks.
The Indian Air Force has fourth generation fighters like the MiG-29 and Sukhoi 30 MKI. Since the IAF already has maintenance and upgrade facilities for the MiG-29, the MiG-35 may be most suitable for the Indian mega order of 126 multi-role combat aircraft. This would mean that the aircraft could be inducted into squadron service with a minimum of expenditure on infrastructure.
TIMELINE
*First Generation Fighters (1945-1955)
These aircraft heralded the beginning of the Jet Age, starting late in World War II up through the Korean War. These planes were the first to be powered by turbojet engines and could not operate above the speed of sound. The aircraft were without radar and armed with conventional guns, dumb bombs, and rockets since guided missiles were still largely experimental.
*Second Generation Fighters (1955-1960)
Supersonic speed in level flight, radar, and use of first guided air-to-air missiles and new electronics technologies. Advances in guided missile development allowed this new weapon to begin replacing the gun as the primary offensive weapon for the first time in fighter history.
*Third Generation Fighters (1960 -1970)
These aircraft served in the Vietnam War, particularly in the latter stages of the conflict. Most of them were the first to be designed specifically as multi-purpose fighters capable of performing both air defence and ground attack missions.
*Fourth Generation Fighters (1970 -1990)
Multi-role fighters equipped with increasingly sophisticated avionics and weapon systems. These fighters also began emphasising maneuverability rather than speed to succeed in air-to-air combat. Examples: American F-16s and Russian MiG-29
*Fifth Generation Fighters (2000 —)
Advanced integrated avionics systems that provide the pilot with a complete picture of the battlespace and the use of low observable "stealth" techniques. The F-22 and F-35 are the only fifth generation fighters developed to date, but Russia positions the MiG-35 with its advanced technologies as an equivalent in this high technology category.

New Delhi: Even as India negotiates the intricacies of a bilateral agreement with the USA on civilian nuclear cooperation, Russia may consider offering two additional reactors to the Kudankulam nuclear power station during the forthcoming visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin, beginning on Thursday.
Mr Putin, chief guest of the Republic Day celebrations on Friday, will touch down on Thursday morning and drive straight to Hyderabad House to hold consultations with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Cooperation in the civilian nuclear sector is expected to feature prominently in the discussions. This will be the seventh annual summit between the two countries.
Mr Putin’s deputy and Russian Defence Minister Sergei Ivanov, on Tuesday, gave indications that nuclear cooperation would feature predominantly in the talks. Both leaders may discuss the ways and means of convincing the Nuclear Supplier’s Group to end India’s
three-decade-old nuclear winter.
When asked whether Russia would offer more reactors to Kudankulam, Mr Ivanov said, “I cannot talk about the documents to be discussed about during the President’s visit. But the issue will be discussed and nuclear cooperation will continue.”
Kudankulam, located in Tamil Nadu, currently houses two Russian light water reactors of 1,000 MW each. Stating that construction work is going on in full swing, the Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd (NPCIL) said almost 70 per cent of the civilian work is completed. While the first unit is expected to attain criticality this year, the second unit is likely to become critical in 2008.
For years, Moscow had been New Delhi’s trusted ally. In the past, it had come to India’s rescue by supplying fuel to Tarapur when other countries were unwilling to do so. In 2006, it had supplied fuel to Tarapur again. Among several agreements likely to be signed, there may be a protocol of intent on civilian nuclear cooperation.
Two more agreements that are likely to be signed relate to a global navigation satellite system and an agreement on launching the YouthSat — a satellite designed by students from India and Russia.
Stating that both the sides have work to do in expanding trade ties, officials referred to the work of a joint study group on ways and means to increase two-way trade to $10 billion by 2010. Cooperation in the oil and gas sectors also seem likely.

Sources close to Defence Ministry reveal that India is likely to announce MiG 35's as the winner of the massive Indian Air Force MRCA (Multi Role Combat Aircraft) contract during President Putin's visit to New Delhi on the 25th-26th of this month (January 2007).
However it is not clear whether the MiG 35's will be the sole aircraft to be acquired to meet the MRCA requirement of the Indian Air Force, which has for more than a decade put forth a requirement to replace its ageing fleet of MiG 21's, MiG27's and Jaguars fighters.
It is suspected that the MRCA requirement, which was originally for 126 fighter jets, has been increased to 200 fighter jets, and that MiG 29's would acquired in numbers around 80-120.
The Mikoyan MiG-35 (Russian: РњРёРєРѕСЏРЅ РњРёР“-35) (NATO reporting name Fulcrum F) is the production version of the latest MiG-29 with a proven thrust vectoring engine and that uses fly-by-wire technology.
The Indian Air Force already flies an estimated 65 MiG 29 fighter jets, while the Navy has also recently acquired the marine versions of the MiG 29.

Но у индийцев походу давняя традиция - иметь всему альтернативу.

Это российско-американская ошибка. У нас, вообще, рынки вооружений поделены с американцами. Редкий случай, когда в рамках рынка мы выступаем прямыми конкурентами. Это создает интригу. Чувствуется, что американцы раздражены, они не привыкли к конкуренции.

Кстати, похоже что нашему старому доброму М2 при превращении его в МиГ-35 фюзеляж немало перекроили.
