Fly with JG54's Focke Wulf FW190s from September to December of 1944 in the Kurland Pocket.
During the fall of 1944, over 200,000 German soldiers of Army Group North were separated and trapped in what became known as the Kurland Pocket. Cut off from Army Group Center, Army Group North waged a defensive battle against repeated Soviet offensives. Each offensive failed and the German army was able to hold its ground against the numerically superior Soviet force. As part of Luftflotte 1, I and II gruppe of JG54 was trapped in this pocket with their Focke Wulf's and minimal support. Fighting against numerically superior numbers in the air a battle of wits quickly developed with small groups of Focke Wulfs fighting off the Yaks, Tupolevs, and Shtumovik's of the VVS.
