    Yak 52 or An2?

    Hello all,

With the popularity of the Yak 52 and An2 around the world, does anyone know of a good quality version of either for FS2002? A good virtual cockpit is a must.

For the Captain Sim team, surly this would be a good project? How may pilot's would have had their first solo in the Yak52!

    Cheer's, Ham

Outstanding An-2 by "Gritsevsky" can be found  over here http://an2-2002.rbcmail.ru/ (mirror with latest files)

Unfortunately there'r no virtual-cockpit (nor even special visual model) yet. But unlike most of the "shallow" aircrafts in MSFS - many systems in this An-2 recreated and really working as they should to! Performance  is well tuned (and checked) as well.

Flight simulation means "simulation of flight" first.. "simulation of look" is second and not most important one

We must NOT forget simulation of a SOUND either! Sound of An-2 seems to be the best of all freeware planes up to now! (Neighbours do not agree, but who cares?)

    Привет!

Thank you all for your replies. Yes, the An2 you mention is very good. Will find the time to spend more time with her next month!

I'm still quite surprised the Yak52 has not featured more...

CHP: I see what you are saying with "simulation of flight before simulation of look" but have to disagree slightly...Yes I need realistic systems and flight characteristics but I also need good visuals to put me in the cockpit.

For me, a quality virtual cockpit is a must, even more so today with the Track IR device. I need to be able to have quick glances down at my instruments (just like the real thing). Flanker 2 pioneered the 3D cockpit, IL2 perfected it, FS2002 is doing very well at it

In fact while I love my L39 I was disappointed with no virtual pit. Looking forward to seeing what the MiG21 is like.

Having said all this there are some outstanding 2D cockpits, Captain Sim's L39, the IL18, Tu134 from flightsim.ru

    Пока, Ham
