According to interviews with the band members, "Infini" is intended to be the
final Voivod album. It contains unreleased songs that were recorded by founding
guitarist Denis "Piggy" D'Amour, who succumbed to colon cancer in August 2005.
Media rumors originally suggested that bassist Jean-Yves Thériault (Blacky)
and/or guitarist Dan Mongrain would play on this album. All guitar recordings
are originals, recorded by Piggy in 2004, so Blacky and Dan Mongrain never
recorded the album.
