Повезло. + Запас высоты поболее, + тяга видимо какая то была.
Тяги не было пропеллер вращался за счет потока воздуха (windmilling). Сразу после отказа пилот убрал смесь .


С его слов:
"I was afraid that there might have been some damage, and I was thinking I to stop the prop so it wouldn't make more damage inside the engine. I don't know why I'd be concerned about engine but I, that though cross my mind I thought well I'll pull the mixture. And prop still didn't stop, and I realized that yeah I should have propeller control actually stop the prop but I didn't think of that"
