Elements of General Hoth's Fourth Panzerarmee are attempting to link with the Sixth Army, or, more specifically, the 60th Infantry Division. Once this is accomplished the city of Stalingrad will be surrounded. The Soviet 64th Army has begun to retreat in light of the breakthrough of General Kempf's 48th Panzer Korps yesterday while the 62nd Soviet Army has started a calculated migration back to the rubble of the city. The troops of the 62nd Army have fought with amazing distinction. There are countless examples of individuals charging at our panzers and throwing themselves under the machines with hand grenades strapped around their bodies. This fanatic and unbridled determination reflects a recent proclamation from the Regional Party Committee stating:
"Comrades and citizens of Stalingrad! We shall never surrender the city of out birth to the depredations of the German invader. Each single one of us must apply himself to the task of defending our beloved town, our homes, and our families. Let us barricade every street, transform every district, every block, every house, into an impregnable fortress."
1./JG 3 will send a rotte escort consisting of "Maus" and Feldwebel Willi Krug as an escort for three flights of Oberstleutnant Hozzel's StG 2 "Immelmann" at an altitude of (1,800m). The goal is to facilitate the link-up between the Fourth Panzerarmee and the Sixth Army with the destruction of enemy strongpoints resisting our armored forces. Ordnance will consist of a single (250kg) SC bomb with fuzes set for a manner of attack that "Maus" feels appropriate. The primary target is a single fortified defensive position on the eastern edge of the village of Pyatimorskiy. Following this the rotte will:

1. Travel directly east and engage in a freie Jagd.

2. Or, remain in the Pyatimorskiy area and engage ground targets.

Fuel will be at 75% capacity and the Red Air Force has been sighted in the latter mentioned area in the form of our old rivals from the 235 IAD; the 46 IAP, 436 IAP, and 191 IAP.

Части 4-й танковой армии Гота пытаются соединиться с 6-й армией, точнее, с 60-й пехотной дивизии. Как только это произойдёт, Сталинград будет окружён. Советская 64-я армия вчера, начала отступление под ударами 48-го танкового корпуса генерала Кемпфа, а 62-я - постепенно перемещается в сторону того, что осталось от города. Войска 62-й армии дерутся с поразительным героизмом. Поступают бесчисленные сообщения о людях, которые бросаются под наши танки, обвязавшись гранатами. Это фанатическое упорство, вероятно, связано с недавним заявлением областного комитета большевистской партии, в котором сказано:
"Товарищи! Жители Сталинграда! Мы никогда не отдадим родной город на разграбление немецким захватчикам. Каждый из нас должен найти своё место в обороне нашего любимого города, наших домов и семей. Забаррикадируем каждую улицу, превратим каждый район, каждый дом, каждый подъезд в неприступную крепость!"
Маус и фельдфебель Вилли Круг, вам предстоит сопровождение трёх групп "Штук" из StG 2 "Иммельман" под общим командованием оберлейтенанта Хоззеля. Высота полёта - 1800 м. Цель - облегчить 4-й танковой армии путь на соединение с 6-й армией и уничтожить очаги сопротивления, находящиеся на пути наших танков. Подвеска - одна 250-кг бомба. Замедление взрывателей - на Ваше усмотрение Маус, в зависимости от того, как Вы будете атаковать. Основная цель - одиночное укрепление на восточной окраине Пятиморского. После этого Вы можете:

1. Переместиться восточнее для свободной охоты.

2. Остаться в районе Пятиморского и атаковать наземные цели.

Заправка топливом - 75%. Восточнее Пятиморского были замечены самолёты красных ВВС, наши старые знакомые из 235-й ИАД: 46-й, 191-й и 436-й ИАП.
