I like the Oskar Schrenk theory and I'm happy this is the Russian nomenclature for what 'we' know as split flaps.
This sort of thing is interesting to me...ie the nomenclature used on Russian designed aircraft and the idiosyncrasies they have. Examples: pneumatic engine starting for piston engine aeroplanes (not common outside Russia), the multiple use of components such instruments like the APK-15M or engines such as the M14P etc etc, it is a long list!
