A. If you talk about Russian planes, you talk about Russian constructed and designed. There was the MiG, the Yak and the LaGG. I respected the LaGG-7. You know with a radial engine, it was always good. You know, I know from an inline engine you always get the troubles with the cooler. You could be hit in the oil cooler or in the normal cooler, and then you have to go down in a certain time. The radial engine is not that sensitive against fire like the inline engine. The LaGG-5, LaGG-7 were very good airplanes, very fast and I as I mentioned you had many cases where I chased them and they chased us. And we and I couldn't get them, full power. Бодрихин ассоциирует это с боем Алелюхина на ЛаГГе против 4 мессеров. Только у Баркхорна - 1943 год, а бой Алелюхина был в 1942.2. ...
По поводу этого Лагг-3 - не надо приуменьшать! Там было 4 (!) мессера.
Где-то, кстати, встречал заметку с описанием этого боя с нашей стороны (вроде бы, не уверен).
