..I assure that the best use of this setup is just in Fight.
Surely is a nervous and reactive setup, and so you must use for a long time to reach good results, but even the webcam plays an important role: consider that (e.g.)Philips and Creative react in different mode in Cam2pan ..so:

(SpeedX-42 & SpeedY-44 for Philips = SpeedX-48 & SpeedY-50 for Creative)

Anyway Consider that head must turn to 90° L\R total, and no body movement,
but I repeat...is very reactive and fast setup that really follow instantanealy your head as in reality.

I'm not a good killer, anyway this is my fight ntrk!
If you can Oleg_tr send me your ntrk recorded with my setting, so I can see what could be your incompatibility with your personal gestures during flight.
